whirls, whirls, whirls
throwing fits of exhaustion and power
into the circle.
Fire rises,
flames shoot all around,
impossible speed,
on drums,
stretched leather with seeds beneath
for sound
The dance continues
a frenzy of movement
increasing to feverish fury.
But, there will be no end
until the last it of the
energy,
vision,
and tradition
are expelled into the jungle-night air.
